The Cube 1969

An unnamed man, simply called "The Man" (Richard Schaal) is trapped in a cubical white room where anyone else can enter and leave, but which he himself apparently cannot leave. A stool is brought in covered in strawberry jam, the furniture changes throughout the play. The main character, is subjected to an increasingly puzzling and frustrating series of encounters, as a variety of people come through various hidden doors. But, as many remind him, he can only leave through his own door, so he must find it to leave. Originally airing on NBC's weekly anthology television show NBC Experiment in Television in 1969, the production was produced and directed by puppeteer and filmmaker Jim Henson, and was one of several experiments with the live-action film medium which he conducted in the 1960s, before focusing entirely on The Muppets and other puppet works.

The Crystal Cube 1983

The Crystal Cube was a mockumentary television pilot written by and starring Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie, broadcast on 7 July 1983 on BBC2 at 22:10. The pilot was one of Fry and Laurie's first television appearances and the first show they had written themselves. However, the BBC chose not to take it to a full series, and Fry and Laurie did not get a chance to make their own programme for the BBC until 1989, when they produced their first full series of the more conventional sketch show A Bit of Fry and Laurie, after a pilot in 1987.

Cube and Room Drawings 1976

This film was shot with the camera placed above a space. It is placed so that the floor below is seen receding dramatically into perspective. Drawings are produced on the floor that deny the perspective of the floor and reinforce the verticality of the film plane. However, when the performer walks across the drawings, the perspective of the floor is reasserted. Interaction between the performer in the space, rotation of drawings and the drawings produce a fluctuating perceptions of the filmed space, the receding floor, and the drawings which emphasize the vertical plane of the screen. Negative and positive image shifts are incorporated to develop perceptual discrepancies. They produce a kind of perceptual distortion that subverts the logical interpretation of information based on prior experience.

The Cube 2009

The Cube is a triple BAFTA Award–winning British game show which first aired on ITV on 22 August 2009. Presented by Phillip Schofield, it offers contestants the chance to win a top prize of £250,000 by completing challenges from within a 4m × 4m × 4m Perspex cube. The show is based on the idea that even straightforward tasks become extremely challenging when confined and put under pressure in front of a large live studio audience. Once inside, contestants can feel both claustrophobic and disorientated. Using "state-of-the-art filming techniques", the show aims to demonstrate the intense anxiety which contestants undergo as they progress through each task. Colin McFarlane provides the disembodied voice of The Cube, who explains the rules of the games.

The Cube

The Cube is an upcoming American game show based on the hit UK game show under the same name. The pilot episodes are being taped in London on the set of the British version. It was first hinted that Fox would pick up the show, but they later dropped it, only to be picked up by rival network CBS instead. Neil Patrick Harris will be the host. The show is the CBS network's response to NBC's Minute to Win It. The top prize is going to be $500,000. Although the pilot episode of the U.S. version of The Cube was filmed in early 2010, it is currently unknown when the series will actually premiere on CBS.

Cube News 1 is a bi-weekly comic video about surviving life in the corporate cubicle. From Cube News Central, her cubicle, Kim does these two to five minute 'cube-casts' covering such topics as “Feeling Postal”, coping with office rage, “Chair Butt”, the peril of sedentary work, and “Cube De-Coder”, deciphering corporate gibberish. A recent addition is the spin-off The Adventures of Cubegirl, a cubicle worker by day but super-hero when needed, who collates faster than a copy machine, and is saving the world, one cubicle at a time. This serial follows the exploits of our intrepid heroine, impeded only by her weakness from gypsum dust, as she rescues coworkers from various forms of corporate abuse. These five to seven minute videos of Kim's alter ego are done on a broader scale than Cube News 1, with various sets, supporting cast, special effects, and, of course, the occasional elaborate sword play.

Rubik, the Amazing Cube 1983

Rubik, the Amazing Cube is a Saturday morning cartoon that aired from September 10, 1983 to September 1, 1984 in the United States, produced by Ruby-Spears Productions. The program, broadcast as part of The Pac-Man/Rubik, the Amazing Cube Hour block on ABC, featured a magic Rubik’s Cube named Rubik who could fly through the air and had other special powers. Rubik could only come alive when the colored squares on his sides had been matched up. It was the first Saturday morning cartoon show to feature Latino children as the main characters.
